This song was a work in progress the last time we played it. Not long after it was written, Lucas began cancer treatments and Specklers were scattered into disarray. This was one of the songs that was intended for the follow up to In the Clover (2011). However, life had other plans, and it would be 8 years before Specklers would release another album (Animal Monk 2019).
“Hark” was somewhat forgotten in the vault, and nearly disappeared. Fortunately, with the tracking of No Egrets, and the move into the new studio space (Ravis Records) Lucas stumbled across this take. This take happened in real time, with no overdubs or retakes somewhere between 2010-2012.
